When a listed price includes tax (VAT, GST, or sales tax), it can be difficult to know the actual price and tax portion. This calculator extracts the original pre-tax price and the exact tax amount from any tax-inclusive figure.
Tax-inclusive pricing is standard in most countries outside the US (e.g., VAT in Europe, GST in Australia/India). The shelf price or invoice total already includes the tax. This calculator works backward to separate the base price from the tax portion, which is useful for accounting, profit margin calculation, and expense tracking.
