Formula

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a comprehensive tax on goods and services used in India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and many other countries. In India, it is split into CGST (Central) and SGST (State) for intrastate transactions, or charged as IGST for interstate.

Add: GST = Amount x Rate / 100; Extract: Base = Amount / (1 + Rate/100); CGST = SGST = GST/2

Examples

Indian GST 18% with CGST+SGST split on 10,000

1.GST: 10,000 x 18% = 1,800
2.CGST: 1,800 / 2 = 900
3.SGST: 1,800 / 2 = 900
4.Total: 11,800

Result: 11,800 INR total

Australian 10% GST on 200 AUD

1.GST: 200 x 10% = 20
2.Total: 220

Result: 220 AUD total
